Michael
Faillace worked for seventeen years as in-house Employment Counsel with
International Business Machines Corporation (IBM). In that capacity he
advised IBM’s field in-house counsel and personnel departments on
employment law-related matters, including the Americans with Disabilities
Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Fair Labor Standards
Act (FLSA), federal and state privacy laws and Title VII of the Civil
Rights Act of 1964.
Michael is a national speaker and writer on a variety of employment law issues. His publications include Automatic Exemption of Highly-Paid Employees and Other Proposed Amendments to the White Collar Exemptions: Bringing the Fair Labor Standards Act Into the Twenty-First Century (The Labor Lawyer, 2000) and a comprehensive annual outline covering the case law developments under the FLSA, published by Practicing Law Institute (PLI).
Michael has been an Adjunct Professor of employment discrimination law at Fordham University School of Law since 1992.
He received his J.D. from Harvard Law School and his M.P.A. from the Kennedy School of Government in 1983. Recently, Mr. Faillace received an LL.M. in labor and employment law from New York University Law School. He received his B.A. from Columbia University.
Michael is fluent in Spanish, German, French and Italian.
